Sony unveils new gaming device

The latest from Sony offers portable gamingAt the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, Sony unveiled its newest product to the eager masses, reported the Wall Street Journal. Dubbed the PlayStation Vita, the new device is Sony's latest handheld gaming platform.

The highlight of the new Vita system is its 5-inch touchscreen on which gamers will able to use their fingertips to control characters within the video game. According to the news source, the announcement by Sony highlights its investment in the next generation of electronic gaming. Accordingly, its two biggest competitors, Microsoft and Nintendo, recently announced their latest offerings at E3 as well.

The Vita allows gamers to take their electronic adventures on the road, but those who like to play games from their own home might be looking for something bigger, such as a home entertainment system. Gamer's looking to create their valhalla may consider purchasing an HDMI video output, a new controller or a DLP projector

One day, gamers may even be able to play games using 3D technology. According to betaNews, this is expected to be the next big trend in the video game industry.
