Video game consoles and hardware have rose in April, according to a new report.
Recently, VGChartz published the findings of a report conducted by market research firm the NPD group. The findings were good for both Microsoft and Sony, as their software offerings saw a rise in sales. Accordingly, the sales of Nintendo's Wii and 3DS products saw small decreases.
A strong console and hardware market is good for gamers, as companies vying for the top spot will likely introduce innovative products to put their brand ahead of the rest. Video game enthusiasts may need the latest home entertainment products in order to get the most out of their electronic gaming platforms, and those looking to do so may want to buy a wireless router, a high-definition television or an HDMI projector.
The manufacturer currently with the lead in the videogame market is Microsoft. The report found that sales of its popular Xbox 360 console grew 60 percent from April 2010, selling 297,000 units.
