As the current generation of gaming consoles gets older, rumors are beginning to develop about the next big video game console. According to betaNews, the next generation's first console will come from an unexpected source.
The news source reported that the Chinese technology manufacturer Lenovo will be the first to enter the next generation market later this year, with the introduction of the iSec. The newest console will, with the addition of other technological advancements, feature a "3D motion and depth-sensing camera for full-body controls similar to Microsoft's Kinect," according to the betaNews report.
The media organization states that Chinese gamers will be the main target audience for the iSec console, and industry executives predict that the console will land in 120 million homes throughout the country.
While the iSec's technology won't be readily available to U.S. gamers for the foreseeable future, video game enthusiasts still have plenty hardware options to create an immersive digital experience. Gamers looking to enter the virtual realm in full force may consider purchasing a new system hard drive, a 3D compatible television or a
DLP projector.
While the iSec may be giving Chinese gamers a glimpse into the future, experts say that the next generation for western gamers is just around the corner. Nintendo recently announced the successor of the Wii will hit the U.S. market next year.
