Capcom recently announced the next installment of its popular Resident Evil series will be available this winter for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
With the latest installment, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Capcom is turning back the clocks on the series and going back to when it all began. Set in 1998, Operation Raccoon City returns to the time when the deadly T-virus was first unleashed by the Umbrella Corporation and explores the bloody consequences that ensued.
This time around, gamers will assume the role of an Umbrella Security Services soldier tasked with the job of covering up the outbreak and wiping out Raccoon City's survivors.
Developed by Slant Six Games, the game will also feature a handful of cooperative and competitive online multiplayer modes. Gamers that want to get the most out of the zombie-slaying experience can run their console in conjunction with an HDTV, LED monitor or HDMI projector to play in crystal-clear quality.
Capcom also announced the first series installment for the new Nintendo DS, Resident Evil: the Mercenaries 3D. Scheduled for release "in the coming months," the Mercenaries 3D will feature fan-favorite Jill Valentine as she explores the mysterious happenings on an ocean liner.
