Officials for Telltale Games recently announced the studio is developing a video game franchise for the Walking Dead television series.
A recent IGN report with the series’ creator Robert Kirkman claimed the partnership will span several years and will feature multiple titles on many platforms.
The game is expected to launch in the year’s fourth quarter. Kirkman was short on details regarding the game’s missions, however, the television series follows a band of survivors immediately after a zombie apocalypse has occurred.
“The game is at an early stage, and we're in the process of mapping this all out now,” Kirkman told IGN.
The television series, directed by Frank Darabont, is itself based upon a comic book series, which Kirkman stated the game will be more closely related to. However, fans of both series will be thrust into the world, perfectly displayed on any HDTV, computer or HDMI projector.
In addition to the Walking Dead game, Telltale also recently announced a new Jurassic park game and another Back to the Future installment.
