Duke Nukem, one of the video game world's original action stars, is making his return to deliver his own brand of ultra-macho, over-the-top Earth-saving, 2K Games and Gearbox Software recently announced.
In the long-anticipated Duke Nukem Forever, Duke will once again be charged with saving the world from invading aliens using his crass sense of humor, foul mouth and a healthy arsenal of big guns.
Duke Nukem Forever will launch in North America on May 3 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. Gamers who want to get the most out of the non-stop action can connect their gaming console to an HD-TV, LED monitor or HDMI projector.
"May 3, 2011, marks Duke’s return as he unleashes his brash and brutally honest wit on the world," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K Games. "His return is going to be epic and one that will make video gaming history."
According to Game Informer, Duke Nukem Forever has been in the works for more than a decade, but ran into several stumbling blocks along the way. Originally intended to be developed by 3D Realms, Gearbox Software took over these duties in 2009.
