PlayStation 3-maker Sony recently announced it is partnering with Guinness World Records to host a three-day event in an attempt to set five world records.
In celebration of the release of LittleBigPlanet 2 and the Guinness World Records 2011 Gamer's Edition, Sony is inviting gamers to the PlayStation Lounge at the Sony Style store in New York to participate in the longest LittleBigPlanet 2 marathon ever.
Additionally, Sony will attempt to set new records for the longest platform video game marathon, the most video game genres in one game in a single day, the most user-generated video game levels in a day and the most user-generated video game levels ever played in a marathon.
LittleBigPlanet 2 is the sequel to the popular 2008 puzzle platformer. The game centers around the user's ability to customize content, including levels and character costumes. With more than 2 million levels already created, LittleBigPlanet 2 can be best enjoyed by connecting the PlayStation 3 to an HD-TV, LED monitor or HDMI projector.
The event begins on January 17 and will run until the end of January 19. Gamers unable to attend will be able to pick up a copy of LittleBigPlanet 2 on January 18.
