PlayStation 3 owners will soon be able to get their hands on this year's IGN award winner for Best Game for the Xbox 360, as Electronic Arts recently announced plans to release Mass Effect 2 for the Sony console in January.
Also the winner of the VGA award for Best RPG of the Year, a Mass Effect 2 demo will become available via the PlayStation Network starting December 21 in North America and December 22 in Europe.
According to IGN, Mass Effect 2 for the PlayStation will be the most comprehensive version to date, featuring a retooled engine with crisper textures and deeper black levels. EA and developer Bioware have also packaged all the downloadable content for the PlayStation version, including new levels and characters.
Lauded for its compelling storyline and compelling visuals, Mass Effect 2 can be best enjoyed by connecting a gaming console to an HD-TV, LED monitor or HDMI projector for a crystal-clear video and graphics display.
Following the recent accolades earned by Mass Effect 2, EA has also recently announced the upcoming release of Mass Effect 3, which will be available late 2011.
