The Ghostbusters of old are finally entering retirement as Sony and Artari are reportedly collaborating on a new Ghostbuster video game featuring a new hero.
According to USA Today, Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime will not feature the actors of the 1980s movie series, but instead, the proton pack will be handed over to the rookie who debuted in 2009's Ghostbusters: the Video Game.
Featuring both online and local modes, the four-player adventure video game allows gamers to choose from an arsenal of tools, including proton packs, plasma inductors and the fermion shock, USA Today reports. They will also have the opportunity to cruise around in the new ghost-busting mobile, the Ecto-4WD.
Developed by Wanako, Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime will be available as a download-only video game for the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live and Windows PC Download in Spring 2011. Gamers who want to get the best picture out of their supernatural-slaying adventure can connect their console to an HD-TV, LED monitor or HDMI gaming projector.
Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is the sequel last year's Ghostbuster: the Video Game, which featured the voices of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Harold Ramis. According to USA Today, the game has sold more than 1 million copies.
