Disney Interactive Studio, the Lego Group and British video game developer TT Games recently announced Captain Jack Sparrow will get a block-form makeover with the new Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game.
Scheduled to be released in May 2011, the video game is based on the Disney film franchise starring Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. Lego Pirates of the Caribbean will include characters and locations from the first three films as well as the upcoming fourth installment, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which is also scheduled for release in May.
The action-adventure video game will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii consoles, as well as PSP and Nintendo DS hand-held systems.
Pirates of the Caribbean lets players control a number of characters from the films as they embark on adventures and explore new worlds. Gamers who want to experience the vibrant environments in pristine detail can connect their console to an HD-TV, LED monitor or HDMI gaming projector.
Pirates of the Caribbean is the latest film franchise to see itself refashioned into a Lego video game. Others include Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Harry Potter.
