IGN ranks Super Mario Galaxy 2 No. 1 game for Wii
Super Mario Galaxy 2 recently earned the top spot on video game website IGN's list of the best 25 games for the Nintendo Wii.
"Super Mario Galaxy 2 is perfectly balanced," IGN stated in a video review. "It’s approachable not just to the experienced gamer but also to the more casual crowd that might not have been born with a controller in their hands."
Super Mario Galaxy 2, released in May 2010, is the sequel to IGN's No. 2 Wii game Super Mario Galaxy. Earlier this year, Galaxy 2 received a "masterful" 10-out-of-10 rating from IGN, making it the only game originally released on the Wii to do so.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a 3D platformer that allows gamers to control Nintendo's franchise character as they explore miniature planets and galaxies in the pursuit of collecting Power Stars. Featuring a blend of stylized, cartoon-y graphics and vibrant colors, gamers who want to enhance the Mario gameplay can connect their Wii to a high-definition TV, LED monitor or gaming projector.
Rounding out the top five on IGN's list are Metroid Prime Trilogy, World of Goo and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
