Video game publisher Electronic Arts and developer studio Criterion Games recently announced the demo of its upcoming Need for Speed Hot Pursuit set a franchise record with more than 2 million console downloads in two weeks.
The demo allows gamers to tear through the streets of Seacrest County as either law-breaking racers or as the cops pursuing them. In a press release, EA said players have already covered 54 million miles of road, while also managing 20 million "cop busts."
The full version of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and PC on November 16 in North America. Gamers who want to enjoy the pristine landscapes of Seacrest County fully can connect their console to an HD-TV, a high-definition monitor or an HDMI projector to display incredible graphics.
EA noted Need for Speed Hot Pursuit has already received favorable reviews from critics. PlayStation: the Official Magazine awarded the game a 10-out-of-10 rating, and GameMaster magazine called it "gaming's greatest car chase."
