The latest installment of Activision’s wildly popular Call of Duty series hits stores November 9, in what many are predicting to be one of the biggest video game releases of the year.
Available on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC and Nintendo DS, Call of Duty: Black Ops puts the player in various roles behind enemy lines in what Activision calls the “deepest and most intense Call of Duty experience ever.”
Black Ops includes a handful of new features, including customization, an in-game currency system, theatre video-recording capabilities, combat training and, for the first time in the series’ history, stereoscopic 3D action.
Call of Duty: Black Ops offers cinematically intense, high-definition graphics, making it perfect for gamers who connect their consoles to an HD-TV, LED monitor or HDMI projector. Creeping through the richly detailed environments during the Cold War will be enhanced with the high-quality displays.
Black Ops has big boots to fill. According to Guinness World Records, its predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, was the biggest launch in video game history. So far, Black Ops has down well, with video game retailer GameStop reporting the title has set a new record with pre-release reservations.
