Two-time Olympic gold medalist snowboarder Shaun White has shirked the snow for pavement in his new video game Shaun White Skateboarding.
Available now on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii, this is the third video game in the Olympian’s title series, but the first to feature the skateboard as the primary mode of transportation. White’s previous two snowboarding video games sold nearly 4 million copies worldwide, according to Reuters.
Shaun White Skateboarding is set in a colorless world, and it's up to the gamer to bring it to life. To do this, the gamer has to wheel around the stage, performing stunts and tricks to liven things up.
When a trick is performed, color will erupt from underneath the skateboard, creating a color effect reminiscent of throwing paint at a wall. Gamers who want to get the sharpest picture quality and vibrant colors can connect their gaming console to an HD-TV, LED monitor or HDMI projector.
In the real world, the 24-year-old White splits his professional career competing in both snowboarding and skateboarding. With Shaun White Skateboarding, White enters a video game genre dominated by skating legend Tony Hawk, whom White considers among his friends, according to Reuters.
