Konami Digital Entertainment and Marvel Entertainment recently announced they are re-releasing the classic 1992 X-Men Arcade video game for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3's downloadable game services.
Developed by Backbone Entertainment, this marks the first time the popular beat-em-up cabinet arcade game will be available for in-home gaming platforms.
X-Men Arcade features the popular Marvel Comics superhero team as they use their special powers to save mankind. Gamers can choose from Cyclops, Colossus, Dazzler, Nightcrawler, Storm and Wolverine to fight off hundreds of Sentinels, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and other super villains.
Gamers can play in cooperative multiplayer mode with one to four characters or go online to play with up to six characters. Online drop-in allows anyone to join the battle at anytime.
Gamers who want to get the most out of the vibrant action and heads-up displays can connect their consoles to an HD-TV, LED monitor or HDMI gaming projector and fight enemies in high-quality displays.
"Fan have been clamoring for X-Men Arcade to hit consoles for 18 years now," said Marvel Vice President for Digital Licensing Seth Lehman. "We’re confident they'll find this re-release was worth the wait."
