Sega has announced the release of a new superhero video game called Captain America: Super Soldier.
The game brings Marvel Comics' famed superhero to video game system in an original World War II adventure for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC, PSP, Wii and Nintendo DS.
Gamers will become the iconic super soldier as he faces his nemesis Red Skull and his army in a third-person action adventure. Wielding Captain America's legendary shield, gamers will battle the infamous Iron Cross, forces of the Hydra Army and other enemies serving Red Skull.
Gamers who want to get the highest picture quality out of the free-flowing, beat-em-up action game can do so by connecting their console to an HD-TV, LED monitor or HDMI projector.
Sega Senior Vice President of Marketing Gary Knight said the company worked closely with Marvel to ensure it delivered the caliber of product that gamers and comic fans expect.
The game's original story is being written by famed comicbook writer Christos Gage, who has written numerous popular superhero titles, including Avengers: The Initiative, Iron Man, X-Men and Spider-Man.
Captain America: Super Soldier is set to be available next summer, Sega said.
