On Tuesday, EA announced a new direction for its widely popular Sims franchise, which will drop the games characters into the Middle Ages.
The new video game, called The Sims Medieval, features loads of new abilities and options for fans, such as creating a hero character and building and controlling a kingdom.
Scott Evans, general manager of the The Sims Studio at EA, said the new Middle Ages element offers the perfect backdrop for a twist to the franchise.
The Sims Medieval offers a new way for players to experience The Sims which we hope fans will enjoy, and it features gameplay that fans of strategy and role-playing games will find appealing, such as controlling an entire kingdom and quest-based gameplay mechanics.
Gamers can experience the new Medieval environments in high-definition by connecting their consoles to an HD TV, LED monitor or HDMI
gaming projector.
There are numerous different characters for players to control, from kings and queens to knights and wizards, with each personality offering a new story to play through.
The Sims, first released in February of 2000, has won numerous awards, including GameSpots Game of the Year Award. Multiple spin-offs have since been created, including two direct sequels and various expansion packs.
