
At the Comic Con International, Bungie, makers of the widely popular Halo series, promoted its upcoming video game release Halo: Reach, which will arrive in stores on September 14.
The game will serve as a prequel to the best-selling series, and will be available exclusively to Xbox 360 owners. Players will follow the story of Noble Team, a group of elite Spartan soldiers, as they form the last line of defense for humanity on planet Reach.
The titles pristine visuals and intense multi-player battles make it the ideal game to be played on an HD TV, LED monitor or HDMI
gaming projector.
Halo: reach is the culmination of a decade of Halo, a franchise that has become a global entertainment and pop-culture touchstone, said Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios.
Spencer said the new game will push the boundaries for whats possible in video games and help make 2010 the biggest year in Xbox history.
Halo: Reach joins a long list of Bungie titles that have experienced tremendous success among Xbox fans. Halo 3, released in 2007, grossed more than $300 million in its first week, with more than a million individuals playing the game on Xbox Live in the first 20 hours it was available.
