Game developers THQ announced on Wednesday its upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine video game will be available for PC users in addition to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.
The new third-person action adventure allows gamers to control a member of an elite group of genetically engineered soldiers. Players are equipped with high-tech gadgetry and state-of-the-art armor as they traverse through an Imperial Forge World, battling savage Orks along the way.
The new title offers gamers intense graphics that can be enhanced by connecting PCs or consoles to an HD TV, LCD monitor or HDMI
gaming projector.
Jonathon Dowdeswell, general manager of Relic entertainment, said offering a title for the PC was a major priority.
The loyal PC audience is incredibly important to us here at Relic, so we are delighted to be able to announce the PC Version of this game, he said.
The Warhammer series has featured numerous games on various platforms since 2003, including Fire Warrior, Battle for Altuma, Squad Command, Dawn of War and Battle March. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine will be released worldwide in early 2011.
