Capcom and Namco recently announced they would combine their two respective video game franchises, Street Fighter and Tekken, to create two new releases.
The announcement, which was made at the Comic-Con International event in San Diego from July 21 to July 24, means fans of both franchises will get to experience a fighting game unlike any that has been released.
Capcom will release Street Fighter X Tekken, using the traditional 2D plane commonly associated with Street Fighteer IV. Namcos release, Tekken X Street Fighter, will use the 3D arena that has made its legendary Tekken franchise so popular amongst fans.
When both titles are released, gamers will have the option of connecting their consoles to an HD TV, LED monitor or
HDMI projector to unleash Ryus patented Haduken attack in stunning high-quality displays.
There is currently no release date for either title, though when they do arrive on shelves, fans may hit the stores with the same intensity as they did for the recently released Street Fighter IV game. Capcoms most recent title rejuvenated the long-running fighting series, as Street Fighter IV and the next edition, Super Street Fighter IV, earned ratings of 94 and 92 out of 100, respectively on Metacritic.
