Independent game developer Playdead announced on Wednesday that its latest effort, Limbo, would be available for download on the Xbox Live Arcade for 1,200 Microsoft points.
The game is shrouded in mystery as players traverse through a 2D side-scrolling platform without sound, text, dialogue or narration. The game has stunning black and white displays and uses a heavy fog to add to the spooky environment.
Gamers looking to enhance the eerie atmosphere of Limbo can connect their Xbox 360 console to an HD TV, LED monitor or
gaming projector, and immerse themselves in a world riddled with dangerous traps and scary settings.
Players will control a young boy who enters Limbo to find his missing sister. The game is teeming with puzzles that may force even the most dedicated gamers to scratch their heads in confusion. The Playdead feature maximizes its simple gameplay with ingenious level designs and loads of trickery.
Limbo is the first game to be released as part of Microsofts Summer of Arcade series. Other titles to be released this summer include new games from the Castlevania and Lara Croft franchises.
