Critics have praised the latest Toy Story movie for its humor and visual presentation, earning the third film in the popular series a score of 90 out of 100 on Metacritic.
Many critics, such as Jinny Gudmundsen of USA Today, share the same sentiment for Toy Story 3: The Video Game. The new Disney Interactive feature has broken from the mold of past movie-based video games that were notorious for being poorly made, she said.
The new game features two options for players - Toy Box Mode and Story Mode. Gamers who connect their consoles to a high-definition television, LCD monitor or
HDMI projector will be able to interact with cowboys, space rangers, dinosaurs and aliens in Toy Box mode and enjoy pristine picture quality. The latter option enables gamers to follow Woody, Buzz and Jessie through eight levels based on the new movie.
The original Toy Story - the first film released comprised completely of computer generated images - grossed more than $191 million domestically and nearly $362 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. The sequel, Toy Stoy 2, won numerous awards, including Best Animated Feature by the Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards in 2000.
