Microsoft recently unveiled its latest add-on to the Xbox 360 console at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles that will offer users a controller-less gaming experience.
The new Kinect hub allows gamers to control on-screen actions with their body movements.
"You will be in the center of your entertainment, using the best controller ever made - you," said Kudo Tsunoda, creative director for Microsoft Game Studios. The Kinect currently has eight hands-on games in its market. Users who connect their system to a high-definition television, monitor or HDMI projector, will be able to see themselves hurdle, run and dance in crisp, high-quality displays.
One of the titles, "Kinect Joy Ride," will enable individuals to mimic driving motions with their hands and use their body to avoid on-screen obstacles. "Kinect Sports" offers gamers an opportunity to enjoy a variety of sporting events in which their kicking motion or bowling technique will directly translate in the game.
In addition to gaming, the new hub will also offer users more advanced entertainment options. By simply waving an arm, individuals will be able to cycle through music stored on their Xbox device, as well as have voice activated control of their media.
Microsoft also showcased its newer, slimmer version of the Xbox 360 at the Expo. The new all-black console has built-in WiFi and features a much quieter running system. The unit will be released later this month and sell for $299.99.
