Gamers looking for a high-definition option for their Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 consoles will get a preview of the latest in green, high-performance displays when Casio showcases its green slim projector at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2010 on Tuesday.
The green slim projectors offer displays of 100 inches and larger, projecting life-sized images in full clarity and high-definition.
"We are thrilled to introduce our green slim projectors at E3," said Frank Romeo, vice president of Casio's business and professional products division. "Casio's eco-friendly green slim projectors provide gamers with an unparalleled gaming experience featuring superior image quality, high brightness and innovative green qualities."
The new mercury-free projectors are more efficient and longer-lasting than traditional projectors that require mercury bulb replacements. The patent pending light source featured in the new devices can provide gamers with up to 20,000 hours of gameplay - nearly 10 times the amount of conventional projectors - which means less spending on maintenance and more money available to invest in the newest titles.
At only five pounds, the device is easy to transport, allowing gamers to setup their consoles in different rooms and have HDMI quality gaming in no time. The projector has a 2x powered zoom lens that can be easily adjusted, making it adaptable for bigger and smaller rooms.
The California-based event has become one of the annual hotspots for the latest in gaming technology, offering glimpses of the latest games, consoles and HDMI projectors. According to Wired's blog, Microsoft previewed new games for its Xbox console yesterday, including the newest in the Metal Gear solid series as well as Call of Duty: Black Ops - a follow up to the widely popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
