EA changes name of long-running basketball franchise
June 2, 2010

EA Sports announced its NBA Elite 11 video game will give players more control Electronic Arts announced the next installment of its NBA video game franchise will have a new name - NBA Elite 11.

The name is not the game's only change, as EA plans to revamp the series with new gameplay and visual effects.

Peter Moore, president of EA Sports, said "In NBA Elite 11, we'll introduce a gameplay experience that gives fans the control on the court that they have been begging for in a basketball game for years."

Fans will get to experience greater flexibility and use more strategy with Elite's new real-time physics system that makes the on-court interactions between players more realistic. Each character will now be able to move independently from one another, giving the user more control over his or her players' in-game movements.

Video game users can further take advantage of the improved controls by watching their players block shots, rebound, and dunk on high-definition screens, monitors or HDMI projectors.

EA has made basketball video games since 1983 and has produced 16 versions of its NBA Live franchise - a series that culminated with last year's NBA Live 10 edition.ADNFCR-3190-ID-19814728-ADNFCR
