Latest Final Fantasy game to get U.S. release in October

Fans of the Final Fantasy series in the U.S. will finally be able to continue playing as their favorite characters soon. Square Enix, the publishing company, announced recently that it will release Final Fantasy 3: The Heroes of Light in October, Neoseeker reports. The game is a spin-off of the main story line.
While previous games have boasted increased graphics - perfect for those that play on HDTVs, high-definition computers or HDMI projectors - FF4: HOL returns to a basic, traditional RPG format and offers simple but well-crafted graphics as well as engaging game play. The graphics are made to resemble a cartoon and create a storybook feel, which contributes to the overall classic game play.
The game was originally released in Japan last October.
The Final Fantasy series began in 1987 and has almost 30 games in the franchise, including spin-offs. The latest release was Final Fantasy XIII, which debuted last year. As of April 2009, the series had sold more than 85 million units, GamesIndustry.biz reports.
