While it has lately been overshadowed by Blizzard's wildly successful World of Warcraft, the developer of the next game in the also-popular Guild Wars series has been recently releasing information about that title, according to Gamespot.
In an interview with the gaming news site, lead designer Eric Flannum said that "in the coming weeks we'll be revealing a lot more about Guild Wars 2, and I think people will be pleasantly surprised by some of the new and interesting directions we're taking [online] gaming. I also wanted to thank all of the people who have been there to support ArenaNet and the Guild Wars franchise."
Flannum detailed several changes to the new version of the game in the Gamespot interview, including stylish new graphics powered by modern display technology. The visuals should look particularly striking on a plasma-screen TV, LCD monitor, or overhead projector, particularly when run at their highest resolutions.
Guild Wars 2 will have plenty of competition in the marketplace, however, as Blizzard plans to release a major expansion for World of Warcraft soon.
