Action racer from Disney speeding toward release, playable demo available
April 26, 2010

Racer from Disney has new demoSplit/Second, an action racing game set in a dystopian future where the player is part of a lurid reality TV program, has marked its progress towards its May 18 release date by making a playable demo of the title available to Xbox LIVE Gold members, according to gaming news blog Kotaku.

Kotaku first previewed the game during its coverage of E3, and the released screenshots show a game that should look good on most displays, from small SDTVs to high-end plasma screens and widescreen projectors.

However, some questions remain about Split/Second's replay value, according to Kotaku's Brian Crecente. Crecente last month wrote that "despite the enthusiastic defense of the game's play life, [a studio rep] declined to tell me how many courses would come with the game. Looking at the menu screen there appeared to be slots for two modes and maybe a dozen courses. Of course I was looking at a beta build, so that might not mean a thing."

Several widely anticipated games are currently in beta, including the next installment in Blizzard's wildly popular Starcraft series.ADNFCR-3190-ID-19743330-ADNFCR
