PlayStation Move has upsides and downsides, experts say

PlayStation Move rolled outSony has jumped into the world of motion-capture controllers with both feet - or, to be more precise, with one hand, having released the PlayStation Move at last week's Game Developer's Conference.

In front of images displayed on a large HDMI projector, Sony showed off the Move's capabilities at a formal announcement, and then allowed the assembled crowd to get their hands on the device at a cocktail party afterwards, according to Ars Technica.

The tech news site reported that "Sony's Peter Dille stressed the fact that families that had grown out of the Nintendo Wii would find a home with the PlayStation Move, but does that demographic exist? The Nintendo Wii doesn't show any sign of slowing its sales momentum, and those that already have the system are probably not looking for a more expensive choice in motion controls with higher definition."

Additionally, Nintendo representatives told Ars Technica that their company would be "embarrassed" to be plugging a product so similar to that of its competitor, and that the Japanese gaming giant would release a new controller soon.ADNFCR-3190-ID-19682778-ADNFCR
