EInstruction recently announced the judges for its Classroom Makeover Video Contest, which awards five North American schools with $79,000 high-tech classroom makeovers. Contestants produce music videos that tells how they would use the technology in their classrooms, and winners are selected by a combination of online public voting and the panel of judges.
Students with access to classroom technology, like an interactive whiteboard, document camera or HDMI projector, often receive a more comprehensive lesson than those students who are taught exclusively with traditional methods. Students have many different learning styles, and classroom technology gives educators the ability to tailor lesson plans to a number of learning styles with multimedia options.
Judges include Mario Armstrong, a radio and television technology talk show host and Emmy award winner - John Wilson, the executive director of the National Education Association, and Greg Festa, named 2007 Educational Technologist of the Year by the New Jersey Association for Educational Technology.
"The caliber of this judging panel reflects our commitment to yet another successful worldwide competition that ultimately awards students and teachers based on their inspiration, creativity and desire for enhanced technology in the classroom," said Eileen Shihadeh-Shald, vice-president of global marketing at eInstruction.
