Pamela Lizardi, a history teacher at Show Low High School in Show Low, Arizona, was recently awarded a CCS Classroom Solutionz technology grant worth around $5,000, according to the White Mountain Independent.
Classrooms equipped with technology, like a document camera, tablet computer or HDMI projector, give educators the ability to connect with students who have a variety of learning styles. By integrating multimedia, teachers can impart the same information in a number of different ways during a single lesson.
Lizardi was awarded an interactive whiteboard along with a student response system and technology training for the upcoming school year. She said she plans to use the new technology in conjunction with her classroom's existing interactive whiteboard to create advanced multimedia lesson plans that she can control from anywhere in the room, integrating instant polling with the student response system and engaging students with web-based multimedia displays.
"We know the importance of interactive technology tools in the classroom for boosting student achievement and retention and hope this program continues to inspire teachers to create innovative programs," said John Godbout, CEO of CSS. "We couldn't be happier for Pam as she utilizes these new tools to create an improved learning environment."
