Teaching technology starts with educators in Massachusetts schoolFall River, Massacusetts, teachers will be using cutting-edge technology in the classroom this fall, thanks to an effort by school administrators.

Diman Regional Vocational High School is currently hosting a series of professional development classes, and, according to the Fall River Herald News, the seminars are being lead by teachers who have knowledge of each specific technology.

"We’re trying to make better use of the technology that we already have in place so that it can be incorporated in the classroom," Elvio Ferreira, Diman's Dean of Students, told the Herald. "This is part of the strategic plan to get teachers to include more technology."

Using the latest electronic equipment and computer- and web-based systems can benefit both students and teachers. By integrating technology such as an interactive whiteboard, web-based learning or an HDMI projector, teachers can capture the attention of students not only with dynamic presentations, but also by engaging them in fascinating new equipment.

Educators can also improve the overall operations of a school by introducing new technology to teachers and staff. The Herald reported that Diman has started using the iRank system, which provides the school, parents and teachers the ability to track student performance and access records.
