The Donaldson Foundation recently announced it will award $10,800 to Illinois' Dixon Public Schools. The funding will be used by the school district to purchase 30 new computers and two servers that will serve as the basis for the educational technology.
"We greatly appreciate the generous financial support Donaldson has given our school district for many years," said Michael Juenger, superintendent of Dixon Public School.
The grant, which is part of the Measurement of Academic Progress initiative to improve test scores in Dixon schools, may greatly empower classroom learning initiatives, reported the news source. If the new computers aid student education, teachers may be prompted to try additional educational technology, such as an e-reader, an interactive whiteboard or a classroom projector.
According to the educational foundation, the recent announcement marks its continued effort to improve local communities through better education.
"The foundation's mission is to positively impact the communities in which our employees live and work by supporting education," said Kristine Graham, president of the Donaldson Foundation.
