The money will be used for educational technology purchases, including a new interactive whiteboard for a fourth grade classroom, according to Tolland Patch.

To pay for the advanced device, the Tolland Education Foundation gave $2,800 of the funds to fourth grade teacher Slayton, reported the news source.

"It will extend their learning," Slayton told the media outlet.

The new technology device has the potential to deliver a larger number educational materials to students at the intermediate school. Accordingly, teachers may want to pair additional educational devices, such as an e-reader, a STEM computer program or a classroom projector, to create a technological learning environment, with the interactive whiteboard.

The media outlet stated students at the school clamor over the new educational technology device. Classroom attentiveness is on the rise and students are generally having fun while learning core competencies.

"Integrated technology and the enrichment process go together naturally," Slayton told the Tolland Patch.
