The benefits of educational technology have prompted many to research and implement new devices in the classroom. According to Petaluma 360, the Petaluma Education Foundation now has its sights set on delivering the latest technology to local schools.
The town of Petaluma, California, recently formed a special task force intended to initiate technological learning programs in area schools, stated the new source. The organization is made up of tech experts, parents and teachers, all of whom have the common goal of empowering education through the latest electronic learning devices.
Using specific criteria and parameters, the task force will highlight the technologies best suited for educational purposes. Then, the organization will work with the Petaluma Education Foundation to ensure new devices are paid for through several grants, reported the media outlet.
The committee may select a wide range of suitable technologies for local schools. Accordingly, approved devices may include the Amazon Kindle, a new STEM computer program or a classroom projector.
The efforts by the PEF and the task force to deliver educational technology to Petaluma schools will likely be ongoing, as one educator claimed continued evaluation of the latest devices is the best way to ensure students have access to the most up-to-date technology.
