In the past, technology grants through the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation could only be awarded to teachers in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, reported the Record Herald. Now, every facility in the Chambersburg Area School District is qualified to receive funding for educational technology purchases.
Six school systems in the region can qualify for the grants, according to the news source. Teachers awarded the funds may see up to $5,000 in additional money sent their way, which can be used by educators to enhance the learning potential of their students.
Epistemological experts claim classroom technology can increase student attentiveness and incorporate multimedia resources that resonate with students growing up in the modern era, in which most know how to use a computer. Teachers intent on reaching their pupils through these advanced media may consider applying for the grant money and, when awarded, use the funds to buy an interactive whiteboard, a STEM computer software program or a classroom projector.
The media outlet stated that those applying for the grants must demonstrate the predicted effects the technology may have on education, as well as show how more digital devices will add value to the overall learning experience.
