The Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation recently awarded $100,000 to the local school district, located just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, reported PhillyBurbs.
The grant is set to be used for a variety of different purposes, including improving education technology for affected schools, claimed the news source. Innovative pilot programs, such as an instant feedback computer system to track student understanding of key concepts, will be funded entirely by the HHEF donation.
Additionally, mobile technologies, such as iPads and personal computers, will be bought by the school district and integrated into the learning environment, stated the media organization.
However, the innovative usage of technology does not need to stop there, as experts say technology paired with inventive teaching leads to increased classroom attentiveness. Teachers looking to reach their students in new ways may consider purchasing an e-reader, a 3D computer software program or a
DLP projector.
The HHEF is a nonprofit that has a long history of aiding education through grants and donations, according to PhillyBurbs. Since 2007, it has donated more than $500,000 to regional educational initiatives.
