According to the Daily Times, the proposed Swan Library in Albion, Wyoming, is set to receive a large degree of state funds.
Recently, the Wyoming Education Department subsidized approximately $700,000 for the new center, stated the news source. The library is expected to begin construction in the coming months and will be a drastic improvement from the old facilities, which have remained virtually unchanged for the last 111 years.
The Swan Library, aside from its space improvements, will likely feature advanced technology that the old center did not have. Librarians looking to introduce young children to the expansive world of reading may consider using surplus donations to buy an e-reader, a phonetic instruction computer program or a
DLP projector.
The fundraising efforts for the library have been a success. The media organization reported that the local community has also played a large role in getting the new facility off and running, contributing $990,000 to the effort in the form of private donations. This brings the funding total to $314,000 more than what was originally allotted for by the library’s planners.
