Imaginative teachers reach studentsTechnology in the classroom may help innovative educators reach out to their students in new ways. According to the Zanesville Time Recorder, a teacher in Crooksville, Ohio, was recently rewarded for his creativity in the classroom.

Bobby Dodd, a technology education teacher at the local high school, was recently awarded a grant by eTech Ohio. The program requires teachers to display innovative technology learning processes in the classroom, which the Crooksville teacher achieved through podcast lessons for his students, reported the news source.

Dodd did not just lecture his students through the electronic medium. Instead, he helped them construct their own informational podcasts that covered a variety of school subjects, including science, math and language arts.

Learning to use technology correctly may pay dividends for students later on in life. Teachers who want to see their pupils succeed in this sector may consider purchasing classroom technologies to introduce the concept to schoolchildren at a young age. Devices designed to help this endeavor include an e-reader, a high-tech computer and a DLP projector.

Dodd is just one of the recipients for the grants awarded by the education foundation. The media organization stated that 51 teachers throughout Ohio will be selected for the program.
