NJ schoolchildren receive technology grants
Elementary, middle and high schools in Summit, New Jersey, recently received education grants totaling $357,000, according to NJ.com.

The funds were donated to the school district by the Summit Education Foundation, which has delivered more than $430,000 to local schools this year, reported the news source. The additional money has been well-received by teachers in the community, who now have a little more spending money to invest in classroom technologies.

"It’s making a tremendous difference in curriculum and instruction,"Julie Glazer, assistant superintendent of schools.

Technology is noted by teachers and epistemological researchers alike to help students become more actively engaged in the learning process. In an effort to enhance their lessons, teachers may want to purchase a new high-tech computer, an interactive whiteboard or a classroom projector.

The Summit Education Foundation awarded a total of 33 individual grants, all of which are intended to improve technology in the classroom for Summit schoolchildren.

Recently, the Mankato School District in Mankato, Minnesota, received a $114,000 grant from the Educare Foundation. The proceeds will be dispersed across the school system to aid classrooms of all grade levels.
