Technology grants for Indiana high school
May 16, 2011

Indiana high school students log onto advanced technologyBack in 2010, the students and faculty of Munster High School in Munster, Indiana, worked together to qualify for an education grant. Recently, their teamwork was rewarded, according to Munster Community.

The school is set to receive $5,000 from the Kinder Morgan Foundation, a subsidiary of one of the largest energy companies in the country. The news source reports that the funds will be used for technology purchases, including wireless ports and a video camera.

"As classroom technology is ever-evolving, we are excited to assist these students by providing them an opportunity to enhance their education through the use of new equipment," said Allen Fore, director of community relations for Kinder Morgan.

There are many companies throughout the United States that would happily donate to worthy education causes. Therefore, schools should apply for grants whenever possible, and those lucky enough to be chosen may consider using the money to buy a high-tech computer, an iPad or a DLP projector.

The grants for the Munster school will primarily serve social studies and speech instruction classes, according to news source. However, innovative teachers may figure out ways to integrate the technology in other areas of education.
