Technological aids in the classroom can greatly enhance a student's learning experience. However, nothing will ever replace dedicated teachers who uses innovative ways to reach out to their students.
The Needham Education Foundation values innovation very highly and, as a result, will donate $26,550 to education programs in Needham, Massachusetts, reported the Boston Globe. The grants will benefit a variety of programs, including a special education learning initiative.
The media organization stated that special educators will use the grants to buy technology aids for their challenged students. These teachers may consider buying an interactive whiteboard, a specialized e-reader or a classroom projector.
The new technology is intended to help special education students prepare for life beyond the classroom, reported the news source. This ideology of continued learning complies with the mission statement of the NEF.
"It’s what makes our programs so effective, because they support educators in their efforts to achieve district learning objectives in ways that make a lasting impact on students,” Pamela Rosin, co-president of the NEF, told the Boston Globe.
