Grants in Oklahoma focus on early eductaionThere are various organizations throughout the country dedicated to improving the quality of education for all grade levels.

The Inasmuch Foundation recently donated sizable funding to schools in Oklahoma, reports the NewsOK. The organization granted $5.2 million to 46 education programs and school districts throughout the state.

There was a particular emphasis on expanding the resources of Oklahoma's early childhood education centers. The media outlet stated that among the program's many recipients is the Putnam City Smart Start Early Childhood Center, which received funds totaling $300,000.

The funds will be used to expand pre-kindergarten and other early childhood education initiatives. Aside from expansion efforts, the school district could also consider buying select kindergarten classrooms an interactive whiteboard, a high-tech computer or a DLP projector.

Early education is perhaps one of the most critical components of childhood development. Therefore, the media organization stated grants that help programs such as these expand in size and technology resources are generally well received.

"Oklahoma City Public Schools has realized for a number of years the importance of having quality full-day kindergarten and pre-kindergarten," Sandra Park, deputy superintendent for the Oklahoma City school district, told the news source.
