California high school students excel through technology

California educators note the benefit of technology in the classroomTechnology in the classroom not only helps engage students, it empowers them to seek more knowledge.

According to the Tribune Weekly Chronicle, such is the case for Calexico High school in Calexico, California. The school recently received an Enhancing Education through Technology Grant, which allowed it to spend money on technological upgrades.

The quality of education for the students has been greatly enhanced, stated the news source. However, improvements should continue as education technology progresses. One day, Calexico High School may consider investing new a high-tech whiteboard, a 3D computer monitor or an HDMI projector.

Educators claim the effects of technology in the classroom are already noticeable, stated the media outlet.

"The engagement level and excitement level is so much higher in this classroom now. The immediate feedback empowers the students immediately," Eliseo Cerros, a U.S. history teacher who received the new technology, told the Tribune Weekly Chronicle.

Students will be quick to point out when school technology that is not up to par. For example, according to the Baxter Bulletin, after fielding complaints from students about poor internet, Flippin High School in Arkansas hopes that a new grant will help it get up to speed.
