Colorado school district receives $93,000 technology grant

Colorado schools become high-techAccording to the Holyoke Enterprise, the local school district was recently awarded with a $93,000 grant that will be used to bring its technology capabilities up to speed. The funding was provided through several state organizations.

The school district, located in Colorado, is currently reviewing exactly how it wants to spend the money, reports the news source.

The funds may be used by the district to develop a comprehensive, web-based alert system that encourages connectivity between educators and parents. Additionally, common school records, such as report cards, may become electronic, which the media outlet claimed can be used to by teachers to monitor their students' progress better.

Also, the grant will likely upgrade the technology in the classroom. Advanced computing capabilities have been shown to help teachers engage their students. Technology, such as fiber-optic internet, a high-tech computer or an HDMI projector, helps teachers captivate their pupils' imaginations during multimedia presentations.

Schools across the country are getting financial help for electronic upgrades. According to the St. Charles republican, schools in Illinois are the beneficiaries of a recent grant totaling $47,000. awarded by the St. Charles Education Foundation.
