Turning Technologies recently opened the application process for a program that will provide 10 teachers across the United States with grants to invest in new educational technology.
The Classroom Improvement Technology Grant will be provided through Turning Technologies along with NBC Learn and the Turning Foundation, a nonprofit that helps educational organizations improve resources in the classroom.
The grant is designed to "develop 21st century classrooms and improve achievement by providing technology and professional development tools from multiple, industry leading companies," the foundation stated. According to the foundation's website, grant packages are valued at $3,500 each, and it will award more than $30,000 worth of technology.
Technology has become an important part of the classroom in many schools. Many educators have found providing students access to equipment, such as a classroom computing, an interactive whiteboard or an HDMI projector, is an effective way to boost class participation.
Application will be accepted until May 16, and winners will be announced May 23.
