Jennie-O Turkey Store recently donated $85,000 to local schools to invest in new technology.Willmar Public School District in Willmar, Minnesota, recently received a $85,000 grant from food products supplier Jennie-O Turkey Store to invest in new technology and other educational projects, the West Central Tribune reports.

According to the news provider, Willmar Senior High will use its $28,107 portion of the grant to purchase new audio and video equipment. Meanwhile, the districts elementary and middle schools will invest in new computers, library books and technology projects.

Educators have found they can utilize technology to enhance the learning experience for students of all levels. Many school districts and other educational institutions use grants to purchase classroom technology, such as a new computer, interactive whiteboard or an HDMI projector.

"We’re sure that you can put these funds to good use in strengthening the education programs in the Willmar Public School District," wrote Bob Tegt, president of Willmar-based Jennie-O, in a letter to the district. "This year we are in a position to share our largess with the community and we are pleased that Willmar schools can benefit from it."

In addition to Jennie-O's donation, the school district also received grants to fund student activities, a Special Olympics program and various facility improvements, the West Central Tribute reports.
