Technology in the classroom can provide students with additional resources and create a environment where they are eager to learnThe Madison Education Foundation recently announced it has awarded 22 grants for a total of $45,500 to benefit five schools in Madison, New Jersey, Independent Press reports.

According to the news provider, the grants will fund a diverse list of projects, including new books, technology, writing workshops and video conferences.

The grants will allow the schools to purchase an array of technology, including a flip camera for an elementary school, robotic kits for the high school and two interactive smartboards and eight document cameras for selected teachers throughout the district.

Educators have found incorporating new technology, such as an interactive whiteboard, a document camera or an HDMI projector, into the classroom can provide students with additional resources and create a environment where they are eager to learn.

This is the seventh consecutive year the Madison Education Foundation has awarded teacher grants, but, according to Independent Press, this marks the first time all five of the town's public schools have been included in one grant cycle.
