The North Dakota Educational Technology Council and the Qwest Foundation recently announced teachers from five schools across the state will receive $5,000 to invest in new classroom technology or programs.
The grants, totalling $25,000, will go toward purchasing innovative technology, such as Apple iPads, laptop computers, and interactive software, in Grafton Middle School, Manvel Public School, Bismarck Roosevelt Elementary, West Fargo STEM Center and West Fargo Westside Elementary.
Many schools throughout the country are investing in emerging technology, such as iPads and smartboards, in conjunction with an HD-TV, an LED monitor or a classroom projector to give teachers additional tools and create a more engaging learning environment for students.
"It's vital for our future that we put the best teaching and learning technologies in the hands of teachers and students," said North Dakota Educational Technology Council director Dan Pullen. "The Qwest Foundation continues to champion education and technology in our state, and as a result, more of our teachers will be able to advance their students’ classroom achievements.”
According to the Qwest Foundation, this is the fifth group of teachers to receive the grants over its five-year history.
