Educators have found the addition of interactive technology, such as a computer or a USB projector, in the classroom allows teachers to be more versatile with how they present lessons.Nonprofit organization Harvard Schools Trust has awarded five educational grants totaling almost $9,000 to enhance curriculum at Hildreth Elementary and the Bromfield School in Harvard, Massachusetts, GateHouse News reports.

One grant will pay for a laptop computer and an overhead classroom projector to enhance the learning experience for 105 Bromfield French students by providing them with a more authentic exploration of francophone culture.

Educators have found the addition of interactive technology, such as a classroom computer, HD-TV or USB projector, in school environments allows teachers to be more versatile with how they present lessons in class.

“What a great start to the school year. With five grants funded ... we are off and running to meet our mission in Harvard’s schools,” said Molly Cutler, co-president of Harvard Schools Trust.

The other four grants will go toward the funding of a new math program, the application of classroom technology and field trips for both the Bromfield Model United Nations Club and and fifth graders to attend a five-day environmental education class.
